Nvidia’s Last Investments in OpenAI & Anthropic | Industry Risks

Everything became clear — Jensen Huang publicly stated that his recent investments in OpenAI and Anthropic are likely to be the last for both companies. Although he tries to explain this with the upcoming IPO, most analysts lean towards other reasons, primarily concerns from Nvidia about a potential bubble.

Most deals with OpenAI are circular: Nvidia invests money, and OpenAI returns it back to Nvidia. In simpler terms, Nvidia fears being at risk when the bubble bursts, and it becomes evident that the growth of these companies is not as independent as it seems.

And we must not forget regulatory risks: the SEC could at some point view such schemes as fraud or fictitious operations. Therefore, Nvidia is currently preferring to expand its ecosystem through other strategies rather than investing additional funds.

Regarding Anthropic, the situation is complicated by tensions surrounding the Trump administration — this adds uncertainty and risks for investments.
