Utopai Studio Video Creation | Innovative AI Storytelling Platform

Utopai Studio is a real story filled with intrigue, investigations, and various manipulations.

Yesterday, they created a global hype.
https://www.utopaistudios.com/

And they did it like this:
Announcement of the launch of Utopai 1.0 — a model for turning stories into movies

The entire Twitter feed is filled with identical posts: hundreds of people are writing roughly the same thing — “Instead of just generating random clips, Utopai creates complete stories” or “I participated in animation creation with Utopai Studio.” At the same time, access to the product is closed (waitlist), and there is not a single well-known influencer or even a familiar name among the posts.

I browsed the entire website (done very professionally from a marketing perspective), saw Korean founders — alumni of giants like Google, Meta, and the post-production industry. The company has been on the market since 2022, with many pivots and direction changes, and finally managed to attract significant investments.
A particularly interesting section — East:

They talk about their own trained models adapted for Korean and Japanese languages, culture, and storytelling nuances (or just large language models for prompts).
And also — a stream of promises about sacred intellectual property, which only causes nausea.

In short, what kind of miracle model is this?

They say it can create videos in a minute and is very “smart” — judging by the descriptions.
I had a feeling that something was not quite right. I stayed in Twitter and asked Grok to help figure it out (what would I do without the cat). He looked — yes, it’s a foundation model, and gave me a link to the marketing nonsense published by GMI:
https://www.gmicloud.ai/case-study/utopai-studios-powering-the-next-generation-of-video-creation-with-gmi-cloud

It clearly states:
– simultaneous operation of multiple models
– a rich library of new APIs and models like WAN, Veo, and others
– Utopai is expanding its platform based on ComfyUI into a full web system (actually — just a Comfy workflow)

And the future plans include:
Utopai intends to launch training of foundational models for video generation.
So, they are preparing…

I don’t deny: the idea is good, the product looks decent (more on that later), the videos on the site are very cool, the concept is excellent, and the team is strong. And they really have a million Comfy nodes.

But calling their current working system a new video model — that’s over the top and a marketing trick.

This has already been seen with Freepik: they called their novelty an ordinary pipeline of third-party models.

It’s a sign of the times: take money (apparently they received a lot), announce the existence of a product that doesn’t exist yet… then try to develop it using investors’ funds. If it doesn’t work out — they’ll pivot. Not the first time.
