Recently, ChatGPT added a new feature that can create visual illustrations to explain physical and mathematical ideas. I decided to test it right away — and honestly, its performance leaves much to be desired, since it’s claimed to work around 100%, but in reality, it’s about a third. Watch the screencast to understand what I mean.
If you formulate the prompt correctly in English, almost without errors and as precisely as shown in the demo — it works perfectly. But with typos or in Russian — it doesn’t work at all. It was particularly interesting to test on simple examples — for instance, the Pythagorean theorem or some formula. Overall, this feature is amusing and seems quite useful. Especially for students: when nothing seems clear, and you have no idea what’s happening inside this “knowledge bank” — everything is visually clear here.
Definitely try it out yourself. You can ask it to help with similar problems, like showing how variables and formulas behave when solving equations. They say that currently, the feature covers more than 70 key mathematical and scientific concepts, and ChatGPT can demonstrate the dynamics of their elements in real time.
Our task is probably to understand all these 70 concepts, although I didn’t find an exact list… In general, it’s an interesting tool for learning.
