AI and Copyright Law | Key Updates and Legal Debates

What is happening with artificial intelligence and copyright law? Recently, the country’s highest court declared that the decision stating that artworks created with the help of AI are not protected by copyright remains in effect and will not be reviewed. In other words, if a painting or sculpture was conceived by a computer based on a textual description, its copyright cannot be protected.

I have a bunch of questions: what about scientific discoveries made through active use of prompts? Do they also remain unprotected? Or what about video games or cartoons created fully or partially with neural networks? Or maybe the journalist misunderstood or misrepresented something?

And if we think more broadly — where is the line? If AI helps write articles, draw pictures, or make discoveries, who will bear responsibility and hold rights for it? For now, it seems that even the most brilliant creations of machines will be left without copyright guarantees.

There are details on this issue on The Verge website. Overall, the situation is quite ambiguous and sparks a lot of debate.
