✔️ Anthropic has increased the context window size to one million tokens.
The Claude Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 4.6 models now support an extended processing window — a full million tokens without additional volume charges. Handling large requests remains at the standard rate, and API throughput limits do not change when working with long texts.
Additionally, the file limit per request has increased sixfold: Claude can now analyze up to 600 images or pages from PDFs simultaneously. This update has already been implemented in the Claude API, and users of Claude Code on Max, Team, and Enterprise plans using Opus 4.6 will automatically receive support for a context of 1 million tokens.

✔️ Microsoft begins large-scale AI expansion in Africa.
As part of the Microsoft Elevate initiative, the company plans to train about three million people in AI technologies for free by the end of this year.
The main goal of the program is to prevent Chinese solutions from penetrating the rapidly growing and youngest market in the world. According to internal estimates, the DeepSeek chatbot already occupies approximately 11% to 14% of the regional market, reaching 20% in Ethiopia and Zimbabwe due to active Chinese investments in digital infrastructure development.
To strengthen its position, Microsoft is betting on expanding its own computing capabilities. By the end of 2027, the company will invest around $330 million in expanding cloud infrastructure and AI technologies in South Africa, and plans to build a data center in Kenya powered entirely by geothermal energy. Key regions for technological development and talent training are Nigeria and Morocco.

✔️ Elon Musk has dismissed two more co-founders of xAI.
Recently, a new wave of layoffs occurred at xAI due to leadership disappointment with the team’s results. Co-founders Zhihan Dai and Ghodun Zhang, head of the Imagine division, left the company — Musk blamed Zhang for technical errors in the product. As a result, only two of the twelve founders who launched the company remain.
These personnel changes are negatively affecting employee morale. Insiders say the mass departure is related to burnout caused by Musk’s strict work schedule demands.
To strengthen its team and improve expertise, xAI recently recruited Andrew Milich and Jason Ginsberg from Cursor.

✔️ Google announced the most significant update to Maps.
The key innovation is the “Immersive Navigation” mode. AI processes Street View panoramas to create realistic routes with detailed 3D models of buildings, precise lane positioning, and traffic light display.
A new Ask Maps feature based on Gemini has also been introduced — instead of standard search queries, AI now understands natural language, correlating geodata with user preferences to generate personalized recommendations. It also allows booking places with a single tap.
The update is gradually rolling out in the US. The new tools will soon be available on iOS and Android, as well as integrated into CarPlay and Android Auto.

✔️ Amazon has added an adult mode for Alexa+.
The voice assistant now offers a Sassy profile for older audiences. Activation requires additional biometric authentication. When this mode is enabled, Amazon Kids features are automatically disabled.
In Sassy mode, the assistant responds with sarcastic phrases, jokes with dark humor, and sometimes uses profanity — but it does not generate NSFW content or promote hate. It will not engage in personal attacks or assist with illegal activities.
This adult mode is part of a major Alexa+ update (last month introduced styles like Brief, Chill, and Sweet).
