Some guys uploaded a fly’s brain neuron by neuron and launched it into a virtual body. And this isn’t just an AI simulating insect biology — it’s an exact replica of the real fly’s neural network. The fly’s brain contains about 125,000 neurons and around 50 million synapses.
When signals are sent in the virtual world, they go directly into this brain replica, activity spreads throughout the system, and the virtual fly’s body reacts and moves like a real one. Can you imagine? Everything works without training or weights — just precise modeling of the actual nervous system.
Now they plan to do the same with mice.
