Meta Acquires Moltbook | Viral AI Agent Social Network

Meta has acquired Moltbook — the very viral social network for AI agents

Recall that at the end of January, a platform similar to Reddit was discussed online, where communication was not between people but automated agents. The foundation of this social network was agents built on OpenClaw: they posted content, voted, commented, and performed other actions.

The popularity of this project soared rapidly — at its peak, there were approximately three million registered agents in the system.

Now the buzz has quieted down, but Zuckerberg has decided that Moltbook is worth paying attention to. Apparently, the main reason is the “always-on directory” technology, meaning a constantly active catalog of agents. This allows for easy discovery of the needed robots and their integration into various tasks.

The exact terms of the deal are not disclosed; it is only known that the founders of the social network — Matt Schlicht and Ben Parr — will join Meta Superintelligence Labs.

It is worth noting that Zuckerberg previously attempted to acquire OpenClaw itself, but was outpaced by representatives of OpenAI. As for Moltbook, he got a bit lucky.
