Breaking news: Early Tuesday morning local time, the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad was attacked with drones and rockets, according to security officials.
An AFP journalist observed thick black smoke rising from the complex after an explosion, and air defense systems intercepted another aircraft.
According to a security service spokesperson, the building was targeted by three drones and four rockets. One drone was shot down, while another crashed directly into the building.
