This allowed them to surpass giants like Meta, Microsoft, Google, Mistral, DeepSeek, and even the Hugging Face team itself.
The overall leader remains the startup Ai2, which is focused specifically on opening datasets and models. Interestingly, in the world of software companies, the one involved in hardware shows the highest open-source activity.
