Boost Productivity with Custom Claude Commands | AI Workflow Optimization

⚡️ URGENT: Salmon industry leaders are in complete disarray!

Many people are currently using tools like Claude Code or Cursor as regular chatbots, while only a few are trying to manage their work to get more or less understandable results. But if you dig deeper into the documentation and understand the instructions, you can discover some really cool features.

For example, Claude Code allows adding custom slash commands that can be tailored to a specific user or to the project you’re working on. It’s very simple: within your project folders or inside Claude itself, there’s a commands folder where .md files are stored. Each file contains a description of the command and its task—that is, what it is supposed to do.

And this is similar to MCP: you create your mini-command zoo and enjoy the convenience. Over the past month, I set up more than 45 such commands and now control the entire development cycle without needing super-technical experience.

Here are my favorite commands for an efficient workflow:

Workflow:

– /dev, /build, /test — the most basic operations
– /new-page, /new-component — automatic generation of new elements
– /add-auth, /add-payment — quick integrations out of the box
– /fix — a universal bug fixer

Session management (simply amazing!):

– /project:session-start — start of the workday
– /project:session-update — progress tracking
– /project:session-end — logging the results
– /project:session-current — current status

For personal productivity:

– /daily-standup — morning reports
– /learn — what I still don’t know about the project
– /explain — explains why things were done a certain way
– /todo — task management for the day

Quality and security:

– /optimize — performance enhancement
– /security — system security check

Why is this so important and cool:

1. Without losing context — Claude remembers the entire project thanks to sessions
2. Repetitive working mode — following the same scheme every day
3. Quality control — continuous checks and improvements
4. Rapid skill growth — with the /learn command, you can learn quickly

If you are still using Claude Code just as a chatbot, you’re making a mistake. Set up these custom commands once and manage the process without endless loops, into which AI can fall without oversight. Then you won’t have to complain later that the business can’t move forward without architecture advice and urgently needs to hire new specialists.
